Bringing Comfort, Dignity and Support to Northern Illinois
Originally founded in 1982 as Joliet Area Community Hospice, Lightways has grown into an independent nonprofit serving adults, children and families throughout Northern Illinois. Through hospice and palliative care, serious illness care, pediatric services and grief support, Lightways helps patients and their loved ones navigate some of life’s most difficult circumstances. Its mission centers on providing guidance, comfort, dignity and unwavering support- helping families experience more time together with less pain, less fear and more joy.
That work requires extraordinary skill and compassion. Nurses, caregivers, counselors, volunteers and support professionals walk beside patients and families through serious illness, end-of-life care and grief, providing reassurance and stability when they are needed most.
A Mission That Is Personal to Hexagon
For several members of the Hexagon family, the care Lightways provides is deeply personal. Lightways has supported the parents, relatives and loved ones of people within our company, offering comfort and guidance during incredibly difficult times. Being able to give something back to an organization that has already given so much to families within Hexagon and throughout our community makes this donation especially meaningful.
How Hexagon Cares Works
Through our Hexagon Cares initiative, a portion of Hexagon Real Estate’s profits is directed back into the communities we serve each quarter. Our agents nominate deserving organizations and then vote to select each quarter’s recipient. Lightways was an overwhelmingly popular choice, reflecting our team’s tremendous respect for its mission and the people who carry it forward every day.
